This project involved a complete rip-out and rebuild of an older bathroom, taking the room right back to the original stud frame before constructing an entirely new space. The existing bathroom had reached the point where a surface-level update was not enough. By stripping everything back, we were able to properly rebuild the room from the ground up, including the wall linings, waterproofing, plumbing, electrical work, tiling and final fit-off.

By stripping everything back, we were able to properly rebuild the room from the ground up, including the wall linings, waterproofing, plumbing, electrical work, tiling and final fit-off.
Project Brief
The brief was to completely replace the old bathroom with a clean, practical and low-maintenance space that felt brighter and more modern. Because the existing room required more than a cosmetic update, the bathroom was taken back to the stud frame so every part of the new build could be completed properly. This allowed the plumbing, electrical work, wall linings and waterproofing to be addressed before the new finishes were installed. The layout needed to remain functional within the existing footprint, while making the room feel more open and easier to use. A simple neutral palette, full-height wall tiling and streamlined fixtures were selected to create a fresh finish that would stay practical over time.
Outcome
The finished bathroom is bright, clean and completely renewed. Full-height white wall tiles help the narrow room feel larger, while the neutral floor tiles add warmth without making the space feel busy. The wall-hung timber-look vanity provides practical storage while keeping the floor visually open, and the mirrored cabinet adds further storage without taking up extra room. A clear glass shower screen keeps the bath and shower area feeling open, while the updated lighting, ventilation and fittings give the room a simple, modern finish. Most importantly, the bathroom was rebuilt properly from the framing forward. The result is not just a visual improvement, but a completely new wet area with updated linings, waterproofing, services and finishes designed for everyday use.

The original rear wall contained a conventional sliding-door opening that limited access, natural light and the connection to the entertaining area outside. The existing opening was substantially widened, requiring careful demolition, temporary support and new structural work before the doors could be installed.
